Human Resources Assistant

The Washington DC office of Finnegan is seeking a Human Resources Assistant. Responsibilities include providing general administrative support to department on a range of projects, activities and process improvement initiatives; proactively ensuring assigned projects are on schedule and status information regarding the progress of each project is reported in a timely manner; assisting with aspects of full life cycle staff recruiting; drafting HR communications; providing assistance with meetings, room and food logistics, etc.; creating and maintaining all HR files; coordinating and facilitating employee events, special HR programs and guest tours; assisting with the development and execution of various recognition programs, including staff appreciation week, firm anniversary awards, etc; processing firm financial documents, invoices, check requests, Amex reconciliation, etc.; acts as first point of contact for the department by answering and screening incoming calls on the HR helpline; assisting directly with routine HR inquiries and conducting research, gathering data, and disseminating information for and on behalf department personnel.
Successful candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint or other web design program, internet research skills, strong attention to detail, excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills and the ability to organize multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
