Rebecca Scarr focuses her practice on drafting and prosecuting patent applications, interferences, opinions, and client counseling for both domestic and international clients. She specializes in molecular biology, cellular biology, biochemistry, and biotechnology.

Dr. Scarr began as a patent agent with Finnegan in April 2001.

Highlights

  • Performed research at MIT focusing on mammalian transcription and the role of Host Cell Factor-1 in mammalian cells.
  • At Harvard, she studied cytosine-5-methyltransferases and the mechanism of DNA methylation.
  • As an undergraduate at MIT, she conducted research related to the chemical synthesis of peptides and RNA.
  • Former research assistant with a biotechnology company, where she conducted primary research related to small molecule/RNA interactions.
