A federal judge has granted summary judgment in favor of automakers Nissan Motor Co. Ltd., Audi AG, and Volkswagen AG in a patent infringement suit brought by MHL Tek LLC, ruling that their tire pressure sensors do not infringe the one remaining patent-in-suit because they are not “generally cylindrical.” The judge found that the pressure sensor housings were actually rectangular, rather than the “generally cylindrical” shape MHL’s lawyers had argued, and thus could not literally infringe the asserted claims. The defendants are represented in this matter by Finnegan.
