Nathan A. Evans
Associate
Nathan Evans practices complex intellectual property litigation in a wide array of technologies, with a focus in chemical and pharmaceutical technologies.
Mr. Evans' experience extends from pre-litigation preparation to fact and expert discovery, trial, post-trial, and appellate work. While acting as trial and appellate counsel, he has performed pre-suit investigations, developed litigation strategies, briefed both pre- and post-trial motions, taken and defended depositions of witnesses, coordinated with experts to draft expert reports, prepared fact and expert witnesses for trial, analyzed approaches for appeal, and drafted appellate briefs. He also has advised clients regarding patent licensing matters, trade secrets, pre-litigation due diligence, and patent enforcement opinions, as well as client counseling in the fields of litigation and patent prosecution for both domestic and international companies, including start-up companies.
Mr. Evans worked as a summer associate and a law clerk before joining Finnegan as an associate.
Highlights
- In re Rosuvastatin Calcium Patent Litigation (D. Del.). Successfully obtained determination of infringement, validity, and enforceability of an Orange Book listed patent for AstraZeneca over the drug product Crestor®.
- Eli Lilly & Co. v. Zenith Goldline Pharms., Inc. (S.D. Ind., Fed. Cir.). Successfully obtained determination of infringement, validity, and enforceability of an Orange Book listed patent for Eli Lilly over the drug product Zyprexa®.
- Held leadership roles at the American Bar Association, co-chairing subcommittees regarding compulsory licensing issues and changes to India's patent law regime.
- Represented on a pro bono basis environmental groups, underprivileged defendants, and a political asylum applicant.
