Michele Bosch’s practice includes many areas of intellectual property law with an emphasis on sophisticated counseling and patent portfolio development, management, and analysis. She regularly handles diligence investigations, pre-litigation analyses, and comprehensive strategic client counseling in the life sciences, consumer product, petrochemical, and organic chemical areas. Michele has been recognized for her work with post-grant proceedings, including inter partes review (IPR), post-grant review (PGR), and patent interference proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
Michele applies her more than 25 years of experience as a registered patent attorney to representing domestic and international clients’ with U.S. and global patent needs. She has spent her career working with chemical and life sciences companies as well as research institutions, providing comprehensive strategic counseling, including portfolio development, management, and analysis; application drafting; and prosecution services. Michele’s experience entails successfully prosecuting and appealing applications before the USPTO, as well as directing prosecution in various international jurisdictions. She has led numerous diligence investigations supporting many business objectives and transactions for early stage and established companies, and she has extensive experience providing patentability, validity, enforceability and infringement opinions.
Michele advises clients across a wide range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, consumer products, life sciences, skin care and cosmetics, nutraceuticals, and chemicals, including agrichemicals, polymers, and petrochemicals, as well as in the areas of minerals, metals, and biotechnology.
Michele’s diverse practice enables her to provide full service and complex strategic counseling on U.S. patent validity and infringement issues, as well as matters involving patentability and priority of invention issues. She is also a frequent lecturer at U.S. and international legal and corporate seminars on a variety of patent law topics, including strategic considerations related to the America Invents Act (AIA), and particularly post-grant proceedings and patent portfolio development. Michele has been recognized by The Legal 500 U.S. for her contributions to patent prosecution, re-examinations, post-grant proceedings, and patent licensing. She was also listed in LMG Life Sciences as an Intellectual Property: Life Sciences Star and recognized for her work in the fields of General Patent Litigation and Patent Strategy & Management.
Michele has taken on several firm leadership roles over the years. She served as a member of the management and compensation committees for several terms and as the Washington DC office’s hiring partner. She also led the chemical/metallurgy and life sciences practice groups.
