Mike Justus focuses on trademark and unfair competition enforcement and litigation, domestic and international trademark clearance and prosecution, and Internet-related copyright and trademark issues.
Mr. Justus provides strategic advice to clients regarding U.S. and international trademark enforcement and litigation matters. He has handled many aspects of federal court cases and opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, including drafting and responding to pleadings, discovery, motions, and briefs. Mr. Justus has experience negotiating and drafting various types of agreements and he routinely counsels clients and renders opinions on a variety of intellectual property issues. Mr. Justus also has experience with the sale and licensing of trademarks, as well as various aspects of false advertising, copyright, and design patent litigation.
In his prosecution practice, Mr. Justus guides clients through the trademark prosecution process from initial selection and clearance of new marks to obtaining U.S. and international registrations and he provides strategic advice to clients regarding protecting and leveraging those rights.
