Kai Rajan's practice focuses on patent prosecution, including drafting and prosecuting patent applications related to medical devices, electrical and computer technologies, business methods, and mechanical technologies.

Prior to joining Finnegan, Mr. Rajan worked as a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, where he negotiated patentable subject matter. He served as the lead examiner of his examination group for approximately two years, examining patent applications directed to health and fitness tracking systems, body-worn medical devices, networked sensor devices, wireless data transmission, computerized medical diagnostic devices and systems, user interfaces, and business methods directed to health and fitness.
