Jill K. MacAlpine Ph.D.
Associate
Jill MacAlpine practices patent procurement, due diligence investigations, opinion work, and client counseling, primarily in the chemical and pharmaceutical areas.
Dr. MacAlpine joined Finnegan as a student associate, gaining significant legal experience in domestic and foreign patent prosecution. Prior to joining the firm, she was employed at a small patent prosecution firm in Washington, DC.
Dr. MacAlpine has significant experience in the field of organic chemistry. She earned her Ph.D. in organic chemistry at the University of British Columbia, where she studied porphyrins and porphyrin derivatives for use as pharmaceutical products in photodynamic therapy.
