Finnegan is led by a management committee composed of active partners from diverse practice areas and from its law offices in Atlanta, Boston, London, Munich, Palo Alto, Reston, Seoul, Shanghai, Taipei, Tokyo, and Washington, DC. Management committee members are elected by the partnership and serve staggered terms to ensure continuity. Approximately one-third of the committee membership is rotated each year. Each of the firm's offices also has an office managing partner.
The managing partner is elected by the partnership, sets management committee and partnership meeting agendas, and oversees the day-to-day management of the firm. The chair is elected by the partnership and focuses on business planning and the firm’s strategic direction. The management committee is one of three executive-level committees that define the firm’s practice and policies. The other two groups are the compensation and coordinating committees. The firm’s chief operating officer oversees the firm’s administrative departments, which are led by chiefs and directors of administration, financial services, human resources, information technology, legal assistants, legal secretaries, marketing, practice support, pricing, and recruitment and professional development.
