In August 2012, the USPTO released the final rules of implementation of the America Invents Act (AIA). And on September 16, 2012, a number of the major changes to the United States patent system went into effect. Practitioners are now faced with the challenge of understanding the new rules and procedures, and how their daily practice will change.
As a follow-up to our introduction to the AIA last fall, through practical examples and hypotheticals, we will prepare you for a new era of U.S. patent practice, and how it will affect you and/or your clients. We will review the final rules and discuss strategies for your practice.
