Finnegan and Howard University School of Law (HUSL) co-hosted a two-day seminar covering case studies from major U.S. corporations, updates of patent, trademark, and copyright case law, practical tips on avoiding the pitfalls in patent prosecution and litigation, and negotiation strategies in software licensing. Finnegan partner Esther Lim served as Program Co-Chair. Julia Matheson, Margaret Esquenet, and Doug Rettew presented “Recent Developments in Trademark and Copyright Law,” Tom Irving presented “Key Patent Cases: Year in Review,” Byran Diner co-presented “The Corporate Value of IP During an Economic Recession: Obtaining, Licensing, and Enforcing IP Rights,” Bob Yoches and Mike Jakes co-presented “Bilski and the Supreme Court: What in the World is Patentable?” CLE credit applications have been filed for California, Delaware, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia.
