Anand Sharma practices all aspects of patent law, with a particular emphasis on district court and section 337 (ITC) patent litigation, as well as strategic client counseling.

Mr. Sharma has extensive experience in managing day-to-day operation of patent litigations and in developing and implementing patent litigation strategies. He also has considerable experience in many areas of trial practice, including taking and defending witnesses at deposition and trial, preparing and arguing discovery, Markman and summary judgment motions, and participating in settlement and mediation negotiations. Mr. Sharma has also drafted numerous patentability, validity, and infringement opinions, as well as patent applications. In addition, he counsels clients on strategic patent planning in areas such as patent procurement, licensing, and pre-litigation considerations.

Mr. Sharma’s practice has covered many technology areas, including medical devices, neurosurgery navigation systems, locomotives, engine after-treatment systems, multi-wire cable fabrication, semiconductor probe card assemblies, DRAM, well-site drilling equipment, and consumer appliances and electronics.

Mr. Sharma is a frequent lecturer on patent-related matters. He has lectured at conferences sponsored by various industry and legal associations, including the National Bar Association, the Confederation of Indian Industry, and the National Association of Software and Service Companies. Additionally, he has authored articles on IP topics related to India and has been often quoted in IP Law360. Mr. Sharma also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Howard University, teaching patent law at the College of Engineering and at the Law School.

• Defend LG Electronics against charges of patent infringement on its refrigerators before the International Trade Commission.
• Defend Phicom Corporation against charges of patent infringement on its probe card assemblies before the International Trade Commission.
• Defended LG Electronics against charges of patent infringement on its high-performance washers and dryers before U.S. district courts in the Western District of Michigan, District of Iowa, and Northern District of Illinois.
• Represented Mannington Mills in its efforts to obtain patent damages and an injunction against infringing natural appearance floor coverings, before the U.S. District court in the District of Delaware.
• Represented Sofamor Danek in its efforts to obtain patent damages and an injunction against infringing image guided neurosurgery products, before the U.S. District court in the District of Colorado.
• Represented Glaxo SmithKline Beecham in its efforts to obtain patent damages and an injunction against infringing flexible head toothbrushes, before the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
• Represented Toter in its efforts to obtain patent damages and an injunction against infringing automated curbside lifting equipment, before the U.S. District Court in the Northern District of California.
• Represented Halliburton in its efforts to obtain patent damages and an injunction against infringing direct drilling technologies, before the U.S. District Court in the Southern District of Texas.
• Worked as a spacecraft engineer at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center prior to entering the legal profession.
• Serves as Chair of the firm's Diversity Committee.
