On April 23, the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee unanimously voted to advance the nomination of Finnegan attorney Kara F. Stoll to the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. The vote now moves to the full Senate for confirmation.
In November 2014, Stoll was nominated by President Barack Obama to serve on the Federal Circuit. President Obama stated that Stoll "displayed exceptional dedication to the legal profession" and will make a "diligent, judicious and esteemed" judge. If confirmed, she will fill the vacant seat that opened up in June with the retirement of Chief Judge Randall Rader.
