Jessica A. Keesee

Associate

Jessica Keesee drafts and prosecutes patent applications involving mechanical technologies and business methods.

Prior to joining Finnegan, Ms. Keesee was an engineer with Elekta Inc., a medical device and radiation therapy equipment manufacturer. During her six years at Elekta, Ms. Keesee’s work involved various neurosurgical and stereotactic devices used in radiation oncology treatment planning and delivery. She resolved mechanical and fabrication problems related to the installation of linear accelerators used in radiation oncology; Gamma Knife stereotactic radiosurgery machines used during neurosurgery and in treating brain disorders; and functional mapping (magnetoencephalography) equipment and systems used in mapping brain activity primarily for research and in the treatment of epilepsy.

Ms. Keesee also clerked in the Technology Transfer Office of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). At the CDC Ms. Keesee reviewed and analyzed the patentability of new technologies, and the marketability of inventions, licensing agreements, confidential disclosure agreements, royalty payments, marketing materials, and trademark and copyright applications.

While at Georgia Tech, Ms. Keesee’s research included the redesign of the needle-free injection system used by the Department of Defense for mass immunization, and an analysis of the wind tunnel of the La Mans Racecars. Additionally, while earning her undergraduate degree, Ms. Keesee worked for Lucent Technologies where she evaluated and improved design methods for pre-form fiber optic cable manufacturing.
