This article by Finnegan of counsel Margaret Esquenet and Justin Hendrix, discusses the recent campaigns by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to seize the domain names of websites that are engaged in copyright infringement activities, such as the distribution of copyrighted goods and streaming of sporting events. According to the authors, the seizures have garnered both positive attention from those who support ICE’s actions as well as concern over whether these site owners are given due process, or if it impedes the right to free speech.
