Bilski v. Kappos: Inside the Supreme Court Oral Argument

February 23, 2010

Cambridge, MA

Until the Supreme Court issues its decision in Bilski v. Kappos, the scope of what can be patented in the United States remains unclear. But one thing is certain: the Bilski decision will have an impact on patent law and the way companies protect their intellectual property.

On November 9, 2009, the Supreme Court heard oral arguments in the Bilski case. Finnegan’s Mike Jakes argued on behalf of Bilski. He was joined by a team of three Finnegan partners: Erika Arner from the firm’s Reston, VA office, and Denise DeFranco from the Cambridge office. During this breakfast program, Mike, Erika, Denise and Ron will discuss the issues and the Supreme Court’s questions.
