Aaron L. Parker
Associate
Aaron Parker focuses his practice on patent litigation before U.S. district courts and has particular experience in pre-litigation analysis, electronic discovery, managing fact discovery, reports and depositions in expert discovery, and summary judgment briefing. His practice also includes counseling clients on global patent litigation strategies, complex patent prosecution, patent portfolio management, licensing, preparation of opinions of counsel, and due diligence and clearance analysis.
Much of Mr. Parker's work relates to medical device technology, including coronary bare metal and drug eluting stents, balloon dilatation catheters, pacemakers, defibrillators, dialysis machines and processes, radiotherapy devices, and heat packs. He has experience involving a wide range of other technical subjects, including mobile smart phone technology, power tools, drainage and septic systems, fuel injection systems, oil pipeline technology, aerogel materials, and composite decking.
While attending law school, he worked for a small patent boutique in Arlington, VA, and he also served as a member of the George Mason Law Review. Prior to law school, Mr. Parker worked as a chemical and biological warfare analyst.
Highlights
- Medinol v. Abbott. Coordinating defense of Abbott’s cardiovascular stent products in lawsuits pending in the Netherlands, Germany, the UK, and Ireland, as well as European Patent Office proceedings.
- Infiltrator v. Advanced Drainage Systems (D. Conn.). Representing Advanced Drainage Systems in patent infringement litigation relating to septic systems.
- Representing several related clients in a litigation involving numerous causes of action, including trade secret misappropriation, fraud, patent infringement, and antitrust claims in the E.D. Pennsylvania, relating to infant heel warmers.
- Represented Abbott in multiple patent litigations relating to its market-leading VISION™ bare-metal stent and market-leading XIENCE™ drug-eluting stent.
- Managing several large patent application portfolios relating to dialysis machines and processes, and water and septic drainage applications.
- As part of the firm’s pro bono program, successfully represented several disabled veterans in litigations before the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and currently represents a disabled veteran in an appeal before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
